Judge of Elections (Pennsbury N2 - 454)

★ Experienced

★ Trained

★ Committed to Fair Elections

I am running for the non-partisan Judge of Elections office to do my part to ensure that voting at Chadds Ford Elementary School adheres to all state election laws. Every eligible voter in the Pennsbury N2 precinct must be able to vote without interference and have their vote counted.  Across the country, many efforts are underway to interfere with our elections and lessen the power of our vote. We all must do our part to protect our elections. I am running for Judge of Elections to protect our elections here in Pennsbury Township.

“Darlene has served as a poll worker for many years and has done a good job serving in a friendly, responsible and unbiased manner.” – Ed Southerling, retiring Republican Judge of Elections

My opponent for Judge of Elections is a committed MAGA supporter whose fence is lined with divisive political signs.  I am concerned this bias would impact the decisions she would make as Judge of Elections.

I have been a proud resident of Chadds Ford for 26 years and served as a Poll worker for the last 9 years – I know how to run a polling place.  I have had the good fortune to meet many of you at the polls and in the community as our kids grew up together in the UCFSD schools.

My job, as Judge of Elections at our polling place, is to be non-partisan.  I will be in charge of the election: coordinating with the school, setting up the polling place before 7am, scheduling poll workers from all parties, helping voters with any issues including mail-in and provisional ballots, and delivering ballots to Chester County Voter Services at the end of the night to finish about 10pm. It is a full day, and a very important day.

I firmly believe that everyone has a right to their political viewpoints. I also believe that the Judge of Elections must make it a priority to be fair and unbiased in overseeing our elections. During my 9 years of service, I have been committed to treating every voter’s issue equally, regardless of party affiliation. For example, accurate completion of a provisional ballot is critical for that vote to count, a new voter sometimes needs assistance finding the correct polling place. There is no place at the polls for providing different levels of support for voters, depending on their political party.  As a voter, I also cast a ballot. As a Judge of Elections, I will serve as a non-partisan election worker.

I have attended numerous training sessions at Chester County Voter Services and I will attend future training to guarantee I know the current laws and polling place procedures. This fall, here in our Pennsbury N2 precinct, it is critical we cast a vote for free and fair elections.

Laws matter, human rights matter, and the integrity of our elections matter. Please support me for Judge of Elections at Chadds Ford Elementary School. I would be honored to serve our friends, neighbors and our country.

Thank you for your support,

Darlene Flores
